Long before it became rather mandated, surf music was already multi-racial and multi-cultural on its own. There were middle easterners in it, women, blacks, Latinos, Jews, gentiles...What has happened to surf music in Hawaii since I don't know but it would great to have another, youth surf battle of the bands as it was in the '60s.
